Sail Cassady
Sexuality. Mental Health. Consciousness.
These are some of the meta themes that run through the music of the award winning flamboyant LGBTQ2A indie-rocker 'Sail Cassady' who hails from Victoria, BC.
Like The National with a dash of Lou Reed, their debut album ‘Juniper’, documents the torture and delights of the artists own grueling process of self-discovery, and gives you a glimpse into the subterranean realms of the Sail Cassady consciousness.
In 2023 Sail Cassady performed sold out release shows at Victoria Folk Night at The Mint, and at Vinyl Envy in Victoria, BC, as well as headlining the Oak Bay Summer Concert Series in Oak Bay, BC. They also popped in to CFUV radio for a live performance & interview. ‘Juniper’ received radioplay from Alt Rock Radio, Cove FM, CFYT, CKCU, Kootenay Co-Op Radio, CIUT, PopCanRadio and had coverage from Exclaim! and Victoria Times Colonist. They garnered reviews from TJPL, Sinusoidal, The Other Side, Find No Enemy, Mesmerized and interviews from Rising Artist & The Other Side, had a podcast interview on Your Life the Mixtape and an artists showcase on the Hootenanny Cafe Radio Show in NY. They are proud recipients of the 2023 and 2024 Creative BC Career Development Programs, as well as the City of Victoria’s Music Strategy Grant, and crowned as winners of Your Life The Mixtape’s Best Album Award and Best In Rock Nominees.
Sail Cassady are currently in the studio finishing up their sophomore album which will be released throughout 2024-45, hitting up plenty of summer festivals this year in the meantime.
