
Merv xx Gotti is an award-winning Asian Canadian singer-songwriter best known for his solo dream-folk project, Guitar Songs. After performing at SXSW three years in a row from 2024-2026, Merv xx Gotti releases his debut studio album, Guitar Songs: A Thesis on Low-Efficiency Emotional Excavation. The LP’s first single, “Jiujitsu,” was named one of CBC’s Top 100 Canadian Songs and received airplay on more than 21 CBC stations, as well as over a dozen campus radio stations across Canada and the United States. Merv xx Gotti has toured extensively, performing at major festivals such as SXSW (Austin, TX), Reeperbahn (Hamburg, Germany), and M for Montréal (Quebec), as well as renowned folk festivals including Folk On The Rocks (Yellowknife, NT), Mariposa Folk Festival (Orillia, ON), and O+ Festival (Kingston, NY). He has shared the stage with Canadian icons such as Chantal Kreviazuk, Great Lake Swimmers, and Aysanabee, and has performed to audiences as far as the UK and India. He is currently working on his sophomore album, Children of the Moon.
