Formed in 2017 as the songwriting outlet of singer-guitarist Eryn Kleyh, October Poppy evolved into a full-fledged trio in 2021 with the addition of bassist Nick Thomas and drummer Matt Pord. With over 40 years of combined experience, the band fuses poetic lyricism with a gritty, danceable sound that balances dreamy textures and raw edge. Influenced by the likes of Patti Smith, The Pixies, and Lucy Dacus, October Poppy delivers music that feels nostalgic yet fresh—like Fleetwood Mac raised on riot grrrl records and Pacific Northwest rain. The band has performed across Western Canada, playing notable venues and festivals such as Vancouver’s Roxy, Silver Star Mountain Resort, and Kelowna’s Revelry. They’ve shared stages with acts like Jesse Roper, Petunia annd the Vipers, and Brass Camel, steadily building a reputation for their dynamic live presence.
